February 23rd - A Letter from Brady to his Extended Family!

Oi Familia!

I hope you liked the pictures I sent. I really love my roommates and it's great we are all going to the same mission together. Every day here is like molded into one long day. I honestly couldn't tell you what I did yesterday or what I did today, they really feel like the same day. It feels like I've only been here for a few days when we are really on our 3rd MTC week! A third of the way done with the MTC! I am already just as excited to get home as I am to leave. I can't wait to get off the plane with the skin of the man eating lion I killed with my bare hands and see everyone waiting for me at the bottom of the escalator.

Sorry for my spelling by the way, I tend to spell in half Portuguese half English now and I don't notice. We have to talk for 15 minutes on Monday with a fake investigator in Portuguese. I'm really nervous about it. I can understand and form sentences pretty good but my vocabulary is very limited. VERY LIMITED! I don't think I'll be able to do it, but good thing you can't get an "F" in the MTC! I talked to some guys who got back from Mozambique 8 weeks ago who volunteered for the teaching center. They said the apartments are nice and that there was only one companionship that got held up but they were by themselves at night and they were both like 5 feet tall. So as long as I carry my things with me they should be safe. I better go, but thank you for your prayers! I'll write again soon.

Elder Brady Brown

Elder Clegg, one of Brady's roommates is off to Africa this week. He learned Portuguese when his family lived in Brazil. We wish him luck! I know Brady will miss him! Tenha uma viagem segura, Elder Clegg!

Hey everyone, it's now my third week in the MTC. It feels like I have only been here for a day or two though. But at the same time the days feel like weeks! I've been learning the language really fast and can now pray, bare testimony, set appointments and have somewhat of a conversation. In the few weeks I've been here, I feel as if I've been learning Portuguese for years. I should leave for Africa around April 7th so until then there probably won't be anything interesting. The Adventures of Elder Brown

Elder Brown entered the MTC on February 6th. He has 3 roommates that are also going to Mozambique. The other 4 Elders in his district are going to Portugal. His departure date is tentatively set for April 7th.

After being inspired by The Clegg family's fabulous blogsite (Brady's roommate's family), we have set up this site so that our friends and family can share more fully in the adventures, or misadventures of Elder Brown. We will keep this blog address for all future Elder Browns from our family and extended family. Hopefully we will have many Elder Browns yet to come. Ola Familia,

Things are starting to get better here. Tell Ryan thanks for the letter, it came at just the right time when I really needed it. The MTC is probably the busiest place I have ever seen, I never even have a second to just sit and think. But its good you just feel really pressured it all. Everything has to be planned out to the second which is kind of frustrating for me. The language is starting to get harded. We have so much to do and memorize its almost impossible to do because we never have time to sit and memorize. The Portuguese is messing with my English already, I’m starting to talk funny and my spelling is sometimes half Portuguese half English so I’m sorry for the miss spelled words. I spell prophet with an f because in Portuguese it’s profeta and so is os, its frustrating. I may not be able to give my home coming talk ha ha. I’m like starting to roll my r’s too. I’m already getting an accent after only a week! I’m getting really close to my roommates, we are all going to Mozambique so we will probably fly home together too.

I’m learning fast but I can’t form my own sentence in my head cuz I don’t know enough vocabulary but I’m getting there. I have to go to dinner. Thanks for the letter, packages and prayers! I can’t wait to hear from you! Tchau!
